Adult:child ratio
On 31 January 2009 the Minister of Education confirmed her intention to improve the adult:child ratio for children under the age of two. As a result, the changes to ratios planned by the previous government will not come into effect in July 2009 and current age bands will remain in place.
If your service was licensed under the 1998 regulations, the current adult:child ratios are set out in Schedule 3 of the Education (Early Childhood Centres) Regulations 1998.
If your service was licensed under the 2008 regulations, the current adult:child ratios are set out in Schedule 2 of the Education (Early Childhood Education) Regulations 2008.
