Wording conventions:

The following wording conventions apply to the specifications set out in this document:

The word shall (bold italics) defines a mandatory requirement of this specification.
The word should (bold italics) defines a strong recommendation but not a mandatory requirement of this specification.
The word may (bold italics) defines an optional aspect which should be considered.

CRT - Cathode Ray Tube
DHCP - Dynamic Host Control Protocol
DNS - Domain Name System serves as the internet ‘phone book’ by translating human-readable computer hostnames into the IP addresses

ICT - Information and Communication Technology
IP - Internet Protocol
NAT - Network Address Translation
OEM - Original Equipment Manufacturer - where one company uses a component from another company within its product.
QoS - Quality of Service –prioritization protocols for time sensitive data transmission
RJ45 - Registered Jack 45 (USOC reference)
RU - Rack Units (1RU = 44.5 mm)
SPI - Stateful Packet Inspection
VPN - Virtual Private Networking
WLAN - Wireless Local Area Network
