Quality in Action was developed to assist management and educators in early childhood services to implement the 1996 revised Statement of Desirable Objectives and Practices.
Self review guidelines for early childhood education – Ngā Arohaehae Whai Hua
The self review guidelines were developed through extensive consultation with the sector. The guidelines were designed to encourage early childhood education (ECE) services to adopt a process of self-review that complements external review undertaken by the Education Review Office (ERO) and examines how practice enhances children’s learning and development.
Providing positive guidance
These guidelines are an interpretation of the legal requirements for practices, both appropriate and inappropriate, which adults in early childhood education centres and home-based services should follow in their interactions with children.
